The Value of Relationships
The mortgage and real estate industry is held together by a tightly woven fabric of human interaction.
People dealing with people.
The real estate industry seems to be as "relationship-centric" as any industry I can think of. Maybe it's due to the local factor, maybe it's because of the necessary trust factor, there are a number of reasons why relationships are incredibly vital in this business.
Relationships need to be nurtured over time, they don't just happen, you can't go looking for them, they aren't built overnight.
Relationships are earned.
In real estate and real estate finance the relationships are not only important they are numerous, in any given day a (successful) real estate or mortgage professional will interact with and call on the resources of a partner quite often, sometimes 20 or even 30 of times.
You'll find that the more successful a Realtor or Mortgage Professional, the more often they have to call on those relationships for assistance. Yes, the more productive you are, the more help you need.
Take a look around your office and consider who the most productive people are, they're pretty well networked aren't they?
Why do you suppose that is? Are they networked because they're successful or are they successful because they're networked.
It's easy to fall into the trap of assuming that the level of success will dictate the level of professional relationships when in reality success will always follow.
Relationships breed success.
It can be easy to succumb to a notion of over inflated sense of value in a relationship. The idea that "I send you business" therefore I must be more vital to this relationship is a flawed notion.
In reality there is only one facet of any good business relationship, adding value to one another pari passu.
Relationships are always a two-way street.
As important as relationships are and as vital as they are to success in the real estate industry, it is still very easy to take those relationships for granted.
It can be very easy to forget to take a moment every now and then simply show some appreciation, some gratitude towards, those people that you deal with on a daily, deal by deal basis.
Relationships need appreciation.
Real estate and mortgage finance are highly competitive industries and the fast paced nature of the business can cause us as humans to forget the importance of The Relationship.
At Poli Mortgage we would like to take this moment to thank all of our relationships, thank you very much for all that you do. We can only hope that we are as good a partner to you as you are to us.
